This diverse two week journey through South Africa introduces you to the world of tribal culture of Southern Africa. Here you will connect with the soulful Venda people and learn how they engage with nature and art through their beliefs and way of life.

There’s no better place to introspect than in a remote wilderness. So naturally an immersive wildlife adventure is in order. Traverse the untamed Kruger National Park in areas with a low vehicle footprint to keep things intimate. Witness Africa’s iconic Big 5 at close range and learn about conservation.

The finale to your travels through Mzansi is the vibey Cape Town. While in the Mothercity you will be exploring the region through the spectrum of art, food (& wine) and culture + a hearty amount of scenic drives that talk to the stunning natural geology and biodiversity of the city.

FULL ITINERARY

DAYS 01 & 02 — JOHANNESBURG / CITY

 

Welcome to South Africa. Upon arrival, you will be met by your driver who will transfer you into the vibey district of Melville in Johannesburg.

On your second day, embark on an art tour of the city with ArtRoute designed with your interests in mind. Visit galleries such as Constitutional Hill, Stevenson Gallery, Everard Read, Goodman Gallery and others points of interest. This tour can be swapped for one of our other immersive experiences of the city.

DAYS 03 & 04 — VENDA DISTRICT / CULTURE

 

Board your road transfer that will take you deep inside the Limpopo Province. Here you will have the rare opportunity to connect with the people of Venda.

The experience at Leshiba is all about connect with nature, people and your inner self. Over the next 2 days, embark on activities such as Tree Identification Walks, Bushman Rock Art, Hiking Trails, Art Walkabouts, Stargazing and more.

DAYS 05 TO 07 — TIMBAVATI GAME RESERVE / SAFARI

 

It’s safari time! Meander down by road into the Greater Kruger National Park where you will check in at Ngala Safari Lodge within the Timbavati Game Reserve. Spend 3 nights in this pristine wilderness that is teaming with wildlife. This happens to be an area renowned for “white lions”.

Embark on twice daily game drives with expert guides and in authentic open safari vehicles and, weather permitting, upgrade to spend a night at Ngala’s luxury Treehouse.

DAYS 08 & 09 — SABI SAND GAME RESERVE / SAFARI

 

Your Kruger finale takes you into the renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Here you will spend 2 nights on a vintage train suspended over the Sabie River. Take in the views and live your Big 5 “Orient Express” fantasy or enjoy adrenaline filled game drives tracking leopard who just happen to call this region home.

DAYS 10 TO 12 — CAPE TOWN / CITY

 

Board your local flight directly from the Kruger to the Mothercity, Cape Town. Hit the ground running once you check in at your downtown hotel which is the first Cape Town hotel to join the Design Hotels™ stable. Your afternoon is accounted for with a sunset hike up the iconic Table Mountain.

Over the next 3 nights explore the Cape Peninsula and the foodie culture and history of the city. We have also included a deep dive into the art scene of Cape Town with a tour by ArtRoute including galleries such as Everard Read, Zeits Mocca, CIRCA Guild, Goodman, Stevenson, SMAC and more.

DAYS 13 & 14 — WINELANDS / FOOD

 

All that exploring is bound to make you a little thirsty. There’s only one answer to that — The Cape Winelands! Journey into the hear of the winelands to Stellenbosch and spend 2 nights at Majeka House. Explore the region’s exquisite wines farms and a number of private galleries.

DAY 15 — CAPE TOWN AIRPORT / FLIGHT

 

It’s your final morning in South Africa. Why not drop in at the V&A Waterfront for a spot of shopping before your flight (time permitting) or enjoy a slow morning in the winelands before heading to Cape Town International Airport from where you can continue on your travels.
